Qujiang New District, Xi'an
The Tang Dynasty Never Sleeps City is a modern pedestrian street in Xi'an themed around the prosperous Tang Dynasty culture. It's free to enter and boasts dazzling lights at night, making it perfect for strolling and taking photos. The best time to visit is autumn (September to November) with its pleasant weather, and the best time of day is at night (approximately 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM) when the lights and various street performances are in full swing. We recommend allowing 2 to 4 hours for your visit. During your visit, you can rent a Hanfu (traditional Han clothing) to immerse yourself in the atmosphere and watch interactive performances such as "The Secret Box of the Tang Dynasty" and "Return to Chang'an."
The most convenient way to get to the Tang Paradise is to take Metro Line 3 or 4 to Dayan Pagoda Station and exit from Exit C (Southeast Exit), which leads directly to the North Square entrance. Alternatively, you can take bus routes 5, 19, 21, or 22 to the "Dayan Pagoda North Square" stop. You can also use the Chinese ride-hailing app Didi Chuxing in advance. A suggested itinerary is to start at the North Square of the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, watch free interactive performances such as the "Tumbler Girl" and "Tang Dynasty Secret Box," and finally arrive at Kaiyuan Square at the southern end to watch the grand finale light show. A 3-4 hour walk will allow you to fully immerse yourself in the magnificent Tang Dynasty nightscape.
The Tang Dynasty Never Sleeping City is a pedestrian street where you can see many different performances. A visitor service center is set up every 500 meters, providing information and guided tours. Various cultural and creative gift shops and themed souvenir shops are located along the way, so you don't need to worry about finding something to do while you're there.

The most complete ancient city wall in China, this Ming Dynasty fortification forms a 13.7km rectangle around Xi'an's old city. Standing 12 meters high and wide enough for cars to drive on, it offers spectacular views of both ancient and modern Xi'an. Rent a bike to cycle the full circuit, or walk a section enjoying the watchtowers and gate towers.

Discovered in 1974 by local farmers, this army of over 8,000 life-sized warriors was built to guard Emperor Qin Shi Huang in the afterlife. Each of the terracotta figures has unique facial features, hairstyles, and expressions. Pit 1 alone contains 6,000 warriors in battle formation. One of the greatest archaeological discoveries of the 20th century and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Basum Tso Scenic Area is a high-altitude natural landscape, renowned for its turquoise alpine lake, lush slopes, and Tibetan Buddhist cultural heritage. Although sometimes incorrectly listed under Xi'an in some online databases, it is actually located in Gongbo'gyamda County, Nyingchi City, Tibet Autonomous Region. Basum Tso Lake has long been revered in Tibetan culture, and the island monasteries in its center have close ties to the Nyingma school of Tibetan Buddhism, with a history dating back to the Tubo Dynasty and continuing religious activities into the 17th century.
