What makes it special is the dramatic contrast between the ancient stone bridges and modern light displays. A visit typically takes 1.5 to 2 hours if walking, or about 1.5 hours for the night cruise. The best time to visit is in the evening when the Sun and Moon Pagodas are lit up, creating a magical atmosphere. Arrive just before sunset to be able to capture both daylight and twilight views.
Located in the city center, the scenic area is easily accessible from anywhere in Guilin. You can walk here from the central pedestrian street or take a short taxi ride. Public buses also stop near the lakes. For precise navigation, use Gaode Maps or Baidu Maps to find the nearest pier or entrance gate.
Expect flat, paved walking paths circling the lakes, making for an easy and relaxing stroll. Comfortable walking shoes are recommended for exploring the extensive park grounds. The area is well-equipped with public restrooms, snack vendors, and plenty of benches for resting. Boat docks are clearly marked along the water's edge.
