Chen Clan Ancestral Hall

The Chen Clan Ancestral Hall, now home to the Guangdong Folk Arts Museum, is hailed as a "pearl of Lingnan architectural art." The most breathtaking aspect of the building is the abundance of "three carvings, two sculptures, one casting, and one painting" throughout the entire complex—wood carvings, stone carvings, brick carvings, pottery sculptures, plaster sculptures, bronze and iron castings, and painted murals. The best time to visit is from October to April of the following year, as Guangzhou's climate is cool and pleasant during this period. It is recommended to allow 1.5 to 3 hours for your visit. The Chen Clan Academy is located in Liwan District, Guangzhou. The most convenient way to get there is by taking Guangzhou Metro Line 1 or 8, or bus routes 85, 88, or Tourist Line 1. After entering the scenic area, the recommended route is to enter through the main gate, first admiring the wooden carved screen in the first courtyard, then visiting the exquisite ceramic sculptures and stone carvings in the Juxian Hall, and finally enjoying the permanent folk craft exhibition. If you have luggage, there is a luggage storage point near Metro Exit F, allowing you to easily explore the area hands-free.

The Chen Clan Academy is clearly marked with signs throughout, so you won't get lost. The academy is equipped with air conditioning, seating, and water dispensers.
