Note: Harbin Ice and Snow World is open only during the winter season (approximately late December to late February) on the north bank of the Songhua River.
Why it’s worth visiting
Harbin Ice and Snow World features main towers, castles, and long corridors constructed from hundreds of thousands of cubic meters of ice. By day, the structures appear translucent and icy blue; after 16:30, they light up, transforming into a massive, luminous nighttime installation. Here, you can experience a variety of Chinese landscapes.
What should I focus on?
Super Ice Slide: The attraction with the longest queues in the park, featuring a slide roughly 500 meters in length. The sensation of hurtling down from a great height, combined with the distinct sound of friction against the ice, makes it one of the most iconic and widely talked-about experiences at the Ice and Snow World.

Snowflake Ferris Wheel: Ascend to great heights for a bird’s-eye view of the entire complex of ice structures and the nightscape of Songbei. The experience offers two distinct perspectives: one around sunset and another after the lights are illuminated.

The Main Tower and the Ice Complex: The design of the main tower changes every year. By day, you can appreciate the translucency of the ice, while after dark, you can enjoy the way light refracts through the icy surfaces—each experience has its own unique appeal.

Complimentary On-Ice Activities and Atmospheric Experiences: Activities such as ice cycling, ice mazes, and traditional spinning-top games on ice are generally included in the admission ticket; the wait times for these are significantly shorter than those for the two most popular attractions.
How to get there
From the airport: Taiping International Airport is approximately 39 kilometers away from the park—a journey of about 50 minutes by taxi. Alternatively, you can take an airport bus to the city center and then transfer to the metro.
Metro: Take Harbin Metro Line 2 directly to the "Ice and Snow World" (Bingxue Dashijie) station. After exiting from Exit 3, it is just a few minutes' walk to the park entrance. You can reach the site directly via Line 2 from Harbin Railway Station or Central Street (Zhongyang Dajie). If arriving from Harbin West Railway Station, take Line 3 to Zhujiang Road Station, then transfer to Line 2.
