No. 2, Zumiao Street, Chancheng District, Foshan City
Lingnan Tiandi, located next to the Ancestral Temple in Chancheng District, Foshan City, is a historical and cultural commercial area transformed from the century-old Donghuali ancient street. It preserves 22 cultural relics protection units, 128 historical buildings, and 8 historical streets and alleys. The area features Lingnan architecture such as blue brick arcades, wok-shaped gable walls, and cobblestone streets, while also incorporating modern cafes, creative shops, restaurants, and bars. A visit of 3–5 hours is recommended, with the best atmosphere from evening to night—the Lingnan style is even more pronounced when the red lanterns are lit. The area is open 24 hours a day, with shops generally operating from 10:00 to 22:00. Admission is free. It is recommended to stroll along the cobblestone streets, admiring the ancient architecture, taking photos, and sampling Foshan's local delicacies such as Minxin Old Shop's double-skin milk pudding. Comfortable soft-soled shoes are recommended, and sunscreen and hydration are essential.
Lingnan Tiandi is located at No. 2 Zumiao Street, Chancheng District, Foshan City. The most convenient way to get there from Guangzhou is by subway: take the Guangzhou Metro to Zumiao Station (transfer to the Guangfo Line), exit from Exit C or D, and walk for about 5-8 minutes. The journey from downtown Guangzhou takes about 1 hour and costs approximately 5-8 RMB. If you are in Foshan city, you can take bus routes 109, 140, 162, or 801 to Zumiao Station or Renmin Road Station. If driving, navigate to "Lingnan Tiandi Parking Lot," which is marked with P1/P2/P3. The parking fee is 10 RMB for the first hour, and 5 RMB per hour thereafter. A purchase of 100 RMB or more can be used to offset one hour of parking fees. Recommended itinerary: Exit the Ancestral Temple subway station, first visit the Ancestral Temple Museum (admission NT$20, includes lion dance performance and Cantonese opera, open 8:30–18:00), then walk into Lingnan Tiandi, and along the cobblestone streets to visit historical buildings such as the Jian Family Villa, the Wedding House, Longtang Poetry Society, Wenhui Lane, and the Bell Tower Square. The entire area is perfect for leisurely strolling and can be easily completed in half a day to a full day.
Lingnan Tiandi is primarily characterized by cobblestone streets and lanes, some of which are uneven; soft-soled, non-slip shoes are recommended. Most areas are level pedestrian walkways with good accessibility; strollers are advised to use the main streets. The area features mother-and-baby rooms and family restrooms (next to the Bell Tower Square). The visitor center offers free maps and wheelchair rentals. Free Wi-Fi and drinking fountains are available throughout the area. Restrooms are located in various locations and are clearly marked. Gift shops and creative cultural stores abound, offering Foshan's unique handicrafts, souvenirs, and time-honored local specialties. Sun hats and water are recommended, as the outdoor areas are sunny.
