Qinghui Garden, originally built in the Ming Dynasty, was once the residence of a top scholar and is considered the foremost of the four famous gardens in Lingnan. The garden's layout centers around water, with pavilions, terraces, bridges, flowing streams, and exquisitely crafted rockeries arranged in a harmonious and picturesque manner. Its greatest highlights are the exquisite brick and wood carvings, and the dazzling stained-glass windows that sparkle in the sunlight. The garden is planted with tropical and rare plants such as jackfruit and wax apple trees. It is recommended to allow approximately 2 hours for a visit. The best time to visit is during spring and autumn (especially September to November), when the weather is cool. The most recommended way to experience the garden is to leisurely stroll through it, appreciating each exquisite building and the changing scenery throughout the seasons, and taking beautiful photos around 3 pm in the soft sunlight.
Transportation Guide: Qinghui Garden is conveniently located in the center of Daliang Street, Shunde District, Foshan City. The most recommended public transportation option is to take Foshan Metro Line 3 and get off at "Daliang Bell Tower Station." Exit from Exit E and walk for about 5-10 minutes to reach the garden. In addition, several bus lines (such as 301, 303, and 305) also go directly to "Qinghui Garden Station." If arriving by high-speed rail from outside the city at "Shunde Station," it's about a 20-minute taxi ride from the station. For visitors driving, please note that parking spaces within the garden are limited; it is recommended to park in nearby commercial parking lots (such as the New World Center shopping mall) and then walk to the garden. Recommended Itinerary: After entering from the entrance, it is recommended to follow this route: Octagonal Pavilion → Chengyi Pavilion (for lotus viewing and fish watching) → Bixi Thatched Cottage (for viewing the "Hundred Longevity Characters" wood carving) → Boat Hall (the iconic building of Qinghui Garden) → Fenglai Peak (for panoramic views of the garden) → Muying Stream (for admiring stained glass) → Zhuangyuan Hall → Guiji Lodge. After the tour, you can walk to the adjacent Huagai Road Pedestrian Street to taste authentic Shunde delicacies such as double-skin milk and ginger milk curd.
The paths within Qinghui Garden are primarily flat walking trails, making it easy to push strollers. However, there are occasional stone steps and thresholds in areas such as pavilions and towers, so comfortable flat shoes are recommended. The park offers several amenities: restrooms and a gift shop selling souvenirs. Audio guides can be rented or free guided tours are available daily, with six free tours held around the lotus pond. Smoking and pets are prohibited within the park. If planning a visit in spring or summer, it is advisable to bring mosquito repellent.
