A National 4A-rated tourist attraction themed around "Gan-style culture and a 'xianxia' (fantasy martial arts) realm," its highlights include cliffside guesthouses, canyon waterfalls, ancient village streets, and spectacular night lighting; it is hailed as a "real-life fantasy world."

The scenic area is open from 09:30 to 23:00, with last entry at 21:00. A visit of 3 to 4 hours is recommended; however, to fully experience the night scenery, it is suggested to enter in the afternoon and plan a two-day trip with an overnight stay within the scenic area.
The best times to visit are spring (April–May) and autumn (September–October), when water levels are high, the vegetation is lush green, and temperatures are pleasant; after the rain, a light mist often rises among the mountains, creating a truly ethereal, fantasy-like atmosphere.
The canyon is cool during the summer months of July and August, making it a great place to escape the heat; however, as daytime temperatures can be high, visiting in the late afternoon or evening is recommended.
Winter offers a quieter, less crowded experience, with an atmospheric night-time lighting display that is also well worth seeing.
