Prerequisites Overview
Hello, traveler. In your imagination, Chengdu might be the spiciness of steaming hot pot, or an afternoon spent with a cup of tea on a bamboo chair. But this city wants to offer you much more than that.
Therefore, this travelogue is a "gift-seeking map" that a local wants to quietly hand to you, hoping that you can find your own "Chengdu memory" here and take it home.
large commercial area
Chunxi Road Pedestrian Street
As Chengdu's most historic commercial center, Chunxi Road has been a symbol of the city's prosperity since its construction in 1924. Here, you can browse all kinds of shops, from luxury brands to affordable fashion. You can also take photos with the large panda sculpture outside the IFS shopping mall.
Here, we recommend purchasing some unique souvenirs: vacuum-packed shredded beef, Sichuan peppercorns, duck necks, etc.

Address: Chunxi Road Pedestrian Street, Jinjiang District, Chengdu
Transportation: Take Metro Line 2 or 3 to Chunxi Road Station, and combine it with a visit to Taikoo Li.
Taikoo Li
It is a high-end commercial district that blends traditional temples (Daci Temple) with modern architecture, bringing together numerous international brands, designer shops, and cultural spaces. It frequently hosts art exhibitions and fashion events.
Besides shopping, Taikoo Li also has a variety of unique restaurants and cafes. You can choose your favorite one to stop and immerse yourself in Taikoo Li's artistic and cultural atmosphere.

Address: No. 8, Zhongsha Mao Street, Jinjiang District, Chengdu
Transportation: Take Metro Line 2 or 3 to Chunxi Road Station, then walk from there.
Specialty Cultural Shopping Area
Kuanzhai Alley
It's a street comprised of three ancient streets: Kuan Alley, Zhai Alley, and Jing Alley, integrating cultural experiences, food, and shopping. Here, you can buy or taste a variety of local delicacies.
There are also traditional folk activities such as Sichuan opera face-changing performances, tea art demonstrations, and sugar painting.
If you enjoy performances and would like to purchase panda-themed souvenirs, you're welcome to visit Kuanzhai Alley. We recommend checking out the "Panda House" for a wide selection of exquisite items at relatively affordable prices.

Address: Changshun Street, Qingyang District, Chengdu
Transportation: Take Metro Line 4 to Kuanzhai Alley Station, Exit B.
Jinli Ancient Street
Address: No. 1, Lane 231, Wuhouci Street, Wuhou District, Chengdu.
Transportation: Exit D of Gaoshengqiao Station on Metro Line 3, or Exit A of Provincial Orthopedic Hospital Station on Metro Line 5. Follow the flow of people after exiting the station; you won't go wrong.

Jinli is adjacent to Wuhou Temple. If you've finished visiting Wuhou Temple and want to buy some souvenirs, you can stroll around Jinli. This is a street themed around the Three Kingdoms period, with ancient architecture and a strong folk atmosphere.
We recommend trying freshly made "Three Cannons" (Sanpao rice cake), named for the "bang, bang, bang" sound it makes during cooking. Alternatively, you can buy a pack of "Zhang Fei Beef" ,a spicy beef jerky that's a Chengdu specialty.
Of course, if you prefer unique souvenir or folk experience shops, we recommend the following in Jinli:
Three Kingdoms Culture Theme Store: Sells cultural products related to historical figures such as Zhuge Liang, Guan Yu, and Zhang Fei.
Panda-themed Shop: This shop sells a variety of panda dolls, stationery, accessories, etc.

Shadow Puppet Shop: At the shadow puppet shop, you can watch shadow puppet shows and purchase shadow puppet crafts.
Shu Embroidery Shop: Shu embroidery is one of the four famous embroidery styles in China. You can purchase your favorite Shu embroidery works here, such as screens, clothing, handkerchiefs, etc.
There are also shops in Jinli that offer special folk performances: copperware shops (where you can watch artisans make copperware) and dough figurine shops.
Wholesale markets in the Rongbei business district
Lotus Pond
Chengdu's long-established large wholesale markets offer a wide variety of goods, from clothing and shoes to small commodities and handicrafts. They are suitable for shoppers who enjoy bargain hunting and seeking good value for money.

Prices here are usually reasonable, but remember, they operate on a wholesale basis. If you're buying a single item, try politely asking, "Can you give me a discount?"
