Italian Style District

Tianjin's Italian Style Town is the most complete and largest existing Italian-style architectural complex in Asia, boasting 137 authentic Italian-style historical buildings, earning it the nickname "Little Rome of the East." The area is open all day and free of charge, suitable for visiting year-round. Spring and autumn (March-May and September-November) offer comfortable weather, perfect for leisurely strolls and photo opportunities. It's recommended to start your visit in the evening—during the day, sunlight bathes the red-brick buildings, ideal for capturing architectural details; as night falls and the lights illuminate the area, it transforms into a romantic European town.

The most convenient way to get to the Tianjin Italian Style Area is to take Metro Line 2 to "Jianguo Road Station," exit from Exit B, and walk for about 5 to 10 minutes. Alternatively, you can take several bus routes (such as 324, 676, 905, and 961) to "Italian Style Area Station" or "Beianqiao Station" and walk from there. A taxi from Tianjin Railway Station will only cost the starting fare. When visiting, start from the landmark Marco Polo Square, take photos of the Goddess of Peace sculpture and the Italian-style tower, then explore Dante Square, Liang Qichao's Ice Drinking Room, and Cao Yu's Former Residence. Along the way, enjoy authentic Italian coffee and food at outdoor cafes, and finally stroll along the Haihe River to admire the dazzling night view.

The Tianjin Italian Style Area is primarily designed for walking tours. It features Italian-style cobblestone streets and pebble floors, so comfortable shoes are highly recommended for a leisurely stroll. The area is an open-air commercial district with flat, barrier-free main walkways, but be aware of a section of stairs several hundred meters long that requires walking up and down. Entry is free, and the street is lined with various cafes, Italian restaurants, cultural and creative gift shops, and craft stores. Restrooms are located in several prominent places (such as next to Marco Polo Square and inside the Tianjin Urban Planning Exhibition Hall), and signs are clearly visible. Free baggage storage is also available for visitors to travel light.
