Shiban Town, Huaxi District, Guiyang City, is about 24 kilometers from the city center.
Tianhetan, located in Huaxi District of Guiyang City, is hailed as "a unique wonder of central Guizhou" and is a karst park that encapsulates the essence of Guizhou's mountains and waters. The core experience is taking a boat into the water cave (Kongling Cave), and a visit of 3 to 5 hours is recommended. The best season is from March to November, when the climate is pleasant, the waterfall has abundant water flow, and the cave is warm in winter and cool in summer.
Transportation: Subway (highly recommended). Take Guiyang Metro Line S1 to Tianhetan Station. Exit from Exit A1 and walk approximately 500 meters (5 minutes) to reach the scenic area ticket office. If coming from the city center, take Line 3 and transfer to Line S1 at Zhongcaosi Station. Buses 211 and 701 go directly to Tianhetan Scenic Area. For driving, navigate to "Tianhetan Tourist Resort". The scenic area has parking lots No. 1 and No. 3. Recommended itinerary: First, take a boat tour through the water cave, then walk through the dry cave, and finally admire the waterfall group and the "Guiyang Story Street" with its Republican-era style.
The scenic area primarily features walking trails, combined with boat rides and water cave tours. While the overall trail conditions are good, the cave floors are slippery and have many steps, so wearing non-slip athletic shoes is recommended. The scenic area has comprehensive facilities; the visitor center provides information services, and restrooms and rest areas are located along the trails. At the exit and in the "Guiyang Story Street" area, there are several gift shops and restaurants where you can purchase souvenirs and sample Guizhou specialties such as beef noodles and "silk doll" (a type of Guizhou snack).
