Zhangjiajie 72 Qilou

The Zhangjiajie Seventy-Two Wonders Towers is a cultural landmark centered around the 109.9-meter-tall Guinness World Record-holding stilted building, whose unique openwork structure echoes the Tianmen Cave. A visit of 1-3 hours is recommended, but the best experience is to enter before 4:00 PM (discounted tickets available). This allows you to avoid crowds, appreciate the architectural details during the day, and wait for the lights to turn on after 7:30 PM.

To reach the 72 Wonders of Zhangjiajie, you can choose to take public transportation, a taxi, or drive. In the city center, take bus routes 7, 16, or 17 and get off at "Zhangjiajie Aviation Institute Station." From Zhangjiajie West Railway Station, a taxi ride takes about 10 minutes and costs approximately 10 yuan, which is very convenient. Once inside the scenic area, it's recommended to first visit the core building, the Heavenly Palace Wonders, then stroll along the Fireworks Old Street to sample Xiangxi cuisine, and finally wait at the Bonfire Square for the light show and folk performances after 7:30 PM. If you only want to capture panoramic night views, head to the free viewing platform across the road; it offers the best vantage point for photos.

The pedestrian paths within the scenic area are flat, but some areas require climbing stairs due to the complex consisting of multiple buildings. The scenic area is well-equipped, with restrooms and rest areas along the way for visitors' convenience. Shopping options are plentiful, with specialty shops along the Fireworks Old Street including a tea shop, a themed post office (selling postcards and fridge magnets), and a Wunu crafts museum.
