Humble Administrator's Garden

The Humble Administrator's Garden is the foremost of China's four most famous gardens and the largest and most complete classical garden in Suzhou. Centered around water features, pavilions and towers are built around the ponds. The garden is divided into three parts: east, central, and west, with the central part being the most exquisite. It is recommended to visit in the order of "east → central → west," which takes approximately 2-3 hours in total, and about 3 hours if you include time for walking and taking photos. The best time to visit is when the garden opens at 7:30 am or after 3:00 pm, when there are fewer tourists, the light is softer, and you can best appreciate the garden's tranquility and poetic beauty. Spring and autumn are the best seasons to visit—March-April for crabapple and peony blossoms, and September-November for ginkgo and maple leaves.

Take Metro Line 6 to "Humble Administrator's Garden/Suzhou Museum Station," exit from Exit 1, and walk approximately 450 meters. From Suzhou Railway Station, take Metro Line 2 to "Pinghe Road" Station and transfer to Line 6, or take Metro Line 4 to "Sujin" Station and transfer to Line 6. Alternatively, take bus routes 40, 5, or 9016 to "Suzhou Museum Station." Visitors driving can park at designated parking lots such as the Donghui Park interchange parking lot and then take a direct bus to the scenic area. Recommended Itinerary (2.5–3 hours): Entrance → Lanxue Hall → Furong Pavilion → Tingyu Pavilion → Haitang Chunwu → Yuanxiang Hall (the core of the garden, offering views from all sides) → Xiaofeihong (a rare covered bridge in Jiangnan gardens) → Yiliang Pavilion → Thirty-Six Mandarin Duck Hall → Liuting Pavilion → Fucui Pavilion → Yushui Tongzuo Pavilion → Daoying Tower → Jianshan Tower → Wuzhu Youju → Shuxiang Pavilion → Tianquan Pavilion → East Exit. This route connects all the park's highlights, allowing you to avoid backtracking.

The park features primarily flat stone paths. Wheelchairs are available for free at the visitor center, and some ramps are paved with non-slip wooden planks. Accessible restrooms are also available for wheelchair users. Restrooms are located north of the Jianshan Tower and include a dressing room, a mother-and-baby room, and hot water in winter. Several gift shops are located, including a shop selling glass window decorations, stamped souvenirs, ice cream, and beverages. The park offers luggage storage, mobile phone charging, bilingual (Chinese and English) signage, tea seating, and a dedicated tourist bus service.
