Jade Dragon Snow Mountain is the sacred mountain of the Naxi people in Lijiang, about a 40-minute drive from the ancient town. It is recommended to allow one day for a visit. The most convenient way to get to Jade Dragon Snow Mountain from Lijiang is by taking bus route 101 from Lijiang Old Town. The fare is 15 yuan per person, and the journey takes about 1 hour. From the Visitor Center station, there is a snow mountain train that takes only 35 minutes to reach Jade Dragon Snow Mountain Station. After entering the scenic area, you can transfer to an eco-friendly bus to reach various attractions. Recommended one-day itinerary: In the morning, take the cable car directly to the Glacier Park; at noon, descend the mountain and visit Blue Moon Valley. If time permits, in the afternoon you can visit Spruce Meadow or Yak Meadow to enjoy the alpine meadow scenery.
The Jade Dragon Snow Mountain scenic area boasts comprehensive facilities. Due to the high altitude, climbing can be strenuous, so it's advisable to prepare hot water or altitude sickness medication in advance. The entrance to the scenic area features a visitor center, restrooms, and several service points. Gift shops and convenience stores selling snacks, oxygen cylinders, and warm clothing are located at the foot of the mountain and near the cable car station. Please be aware of altitude sickness, dress warmly, and protect yourself from the sun.
