Overview
The Jinsha Site Museum was built directly on the site of an ancient Shu civilization sacrificial site, showcasing precious artifacts from over 3,000 years ago. It is recommended to allow approximately 3 hours for your visit. The best time to visit is between 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM on weekdays, when there are fewer crowds and better lighting.
How to Get There
The most convenient way is to take Metro Line 7 to "Jinsha Site Museum" station, exit from Exit C and walk straight to reach the South Gate. You can also take bus routes 5, 82, 83, 111, and many others.
When visiting, it is recommended to first visit the Relics Hall (to see the actual archaeological sacrificial pits), then go to the Exhibition Hall to admire the museum's prized "Sun Bird" gold ornament and gold mask, and finally stroll through the mysterious Ebony Forest.
What to Expect
The museum features a garden-style design with primarily flat walking paths, perfect for a leisurely stroll. It also offers wheelchair access and wheelchair rental services. While there are a few staircases connecting the main exhibition halls, elevators and escalators are available throughout the complex. Restrooms are conveniently located throughout the museum. After your visit, there's a gift shop at the exit where you can purchase Sun Bird-themed souvenirs and get free stamps.
Practical Tips
- Go early, ideally near 09:00, for a quieter visit and better photos inside the main galleries before tour groups arrive.
- Take Chengdu Metro Line 7 to Jinsha Museum Station and use Gaode or Baidu Maps for the exact exit and walking route.
- Note: All areas of the museum will be closed to the public from December 5, 2025 to April 30, 2027.
- Free baggage storage is available at the East Gate Visitor Center (large suitcases are also accepted).
