Longshuixia Gorge is a core component of the Wulong Karst World Natural Heritage site. It's a deep karst fissure formed tens of millions of years ago by orogenic movements. The gorge is approximately 5 kilometers long, with about 2 kilometers on foot. The depth ranges from 200 to 500 meters. A visit takes about 2 to 3 hours. The best time to visit is during the summer (June to August), when the valley has abundant water, the waterfalls are more spectacular, and the deep gorge is cool like a natural air conditioner, making it an excellent choice for escaping the summer heat. Experience the unique sensation of "walking on the boardwalk with water flowing at your feet."
You will need to arrive in Wulong District, Chongqing first. The most convenient way is to take a train from Chongqing North Railway Station (approximately 2 hours, ticket price approximately 24.5 yuan) or a long-distance bus from Sijiang Transportation Hub (approximately 2.5 hours) to Wulong city. Then, at Wulong Bus Station, transfer to a shuttle bus to the "Fairy Mountain Town Visitor Center". All visitors must purchase tickets (including transfer fees) at this visitor center, and then take the scenic area's eco-friendly bus to the entrance of Longshuixia Gorge, a journey of approximately 10-15 minutes. If you have already visited the adjacent Three Natural Bridges scenic area, you can take the scenic area shuttle bus directly from its exit parking lot to the gorge. This is a one-way hiking route with no backtracking. From the scenic area entrance, take the sightseeing elevator down to the mountainside, and walk along the boardwalk to visit the highlights such as Jiaolong Cold Cave, Milky Way Waterfall (80 meters high), One Line Sky, and Jade Spring Pearl Curtain, finally reaching the exit, and then take the shuttle bus back to the visitor center.
The scenic area has relatively complete facilities, with safe cliffside walkways and trails throughout. However, the surfaces may be slippery due to the splashing waterfalls, so please be sure to wear non-slip, comfortable sports shoes. Restrooms are available near the "Entering the Three Realms" attraction. However, there are almost no restaurants or gift shops inside the scenic area, so it is recommended that you bring your own drinking water and some snacks to replenish your energy. The temperature inside the valley is 5-8℃ lower than outside, so it is advisable to bring a light jacket.
