The Potala Palace is Lhasa's iconic landmark. This magnificent palace complex was originally built in the 7th century and rebuilt in the 17th century. It integrates palaces, castles, and monasteries, and is a sacred site of Tibetan Buddhism and a World Heritage Site. It is recommended to allow 2-3 hours for your visit. The best time to visit is during the pleasant spring (April-May) and autumn (September-October), when the weather is sunny and comfortable. Please note: Visitors must make reservations in advance through the official WeChat mini-program and enter through the South Gate.
To reach the Potala Palace, you can first arrive in Lhasa by plane or train, and then transfer to local transportation. Please note that foreign tourists must enter with a tour group or guide. From Gonggar Airport, you can take a bus (approximately 30 RMB per person) to the city center; from Lhasa Railway Station, you can take a bus or taxi. City buses (such as routes 1, 6, 12, 17, and 24 to "Lhabai Station" or "White Pagoda Station") or taxis (approximately 10-15 RMB within the city) are readily available. The tour route is one-way: Individual tourists need to make reservations in advance through the official WeChat mini-program and enter through the South Gate. After passing through the snow-covered city at the foot of the mountain, ascend the zigzagging stone steps to visit the White Palace and Red Palace in sequence, finally exiting through the North Gate. You can also visit Zongjiao Lukang Park to photograph the palace's reflection. As a foreign tourist, please be sure to carry your passport and Tibet Entry Permit with you at all times for verification.
Visiting the Potala Palace requires a certain level of physical fitness. Due to the high altitude (approximately 3700 meters), it is recommended to slow down and avoid strenuous activity. The passageways inside the palace are quite narrow and are one-way. There are several public restrooms along the way (usually located near the entrance and exit areas). At the foot of the mountain, in the snow village, and at the exit, there are gift shops and souvenir shops where you can purchase Tibetan souvenirs such as postcards and prayer wheels (WeChat/Alipay payments are usually accepted).

Barkhor Street(八廓街) is a historic landmark in Lhasa, renowned for its pilgrimage route around the Jokhang Temple and the vibrant blend of Tibetan religion, commerce, and daily life. Walking clockwise with pilgrims is both a cultural tradition and an important way to experience the Tibetan circumambulation ritual. Compared to many newly developed areas, the alleyways surrounding Barkhor Street retain more of the charm of old Lhasa.

Tibet's largest lake and the world's highest saltwater lake at 4,718 meters, Namtso means 'Heavenly Lake' in Tibetan. The vast turquoise expanse backed by the 7,000m+ Nyenchen Tanglha mountain range creates a scene of incomprehensible beauty. Tashi Dor Peninsula with its cave hermitages is the main destination. Stargazing here reveals skies like nowhere else on Earth.

Tibet's most sacred temple, Jokhang is the spiritual heart of Tibetan Buddhism. Built in 647 AD, it houses the Jowo Rinpoche - a gold statue of the young Buddha said to have been blessed by Buddha himself. Pilgrims prostrate around the temple on the Barkhor circuit, spinning prayer wheels and burning juniper incense. The rooftop offers stunning views of Potala Palace.
